There is a huge market for compact luxury sedans in India, and to meet that demand Mercedes-Benz is soon going to launch the CLA-Class. While details with regards to price will only be announced by the German car maker on January 22 at the launch, bookings for the CLA-Class have already commenced. The minimum booking amount for the CLA-Class is Rs 2 lakh.
The CLA-Class shares its underpinnings with the A-Class, B-Class and the more recently launched compact SUV, the GLA-Class. Under the hood, the CLA-Class will sport a 2.0-litre petrol unit making 183.5PS and 300Nm and will also be offered with a 2.2-litre diesel mill that pumps 136PS and 300Nm. The CLA-Class will be made available in Style and Sport trims.
Set to take on the A3, the CLA-Class despite losing out on the first movers advantage, is sure to give Audi something to ponder about especially keeping in mind the way Mercedes has been doing off late.
